The learning environment at Pretty River Academy focuses on the principle of taking young people beyond the classroom and challenging them to change their world.
Since 1998, Pretty River Academy has fulfilled its mission of developing students of character by promoting academic excellence, self-confidence, leadership, and independent thinking in an enriching, supportive environment. This environment ensures our students' success, preparing them for leadership at university and beyond.
Pretty River Academy is recognized throughout the Georgian Triangle as a leading educational institution for young men and women. Small class sizes and a low student/teacher ratio result in a superior academic program. Pretty River Academy is about more than academics, however. We have co-curricular clubs run by student leaders, opportunities in the arts, athletic teams in a variety of sports, and extensive community activities ensuring Pretty River Academy's students are well-rounded individuals. Pretty River Academy believes in the importance of contributing to society. From a young age, our students learn the importance of giving back to their communities: local, national and international.
- All Pretty River Academy High School students participate in the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh awards every year.
- Pretty River Academy students broaden their perspective by attending such venues as the Student United Nations Conference, and the Nelson Mandela Information Session, and take international trips gaining hands on experience while learning from the expertise of others.
- Pretty River Academy students raise money for several local and international charities.
