Leaders of Tomorrow Conference

Thursday April 15, 2010 - Friday April 16, 2010

Pretty River Academy is excited to be sponsoring the First Annual Leaders of Tomorrow Conference at our school. This exciting opportunity for Grade 7 & 8 students in Simcoe & Grey counties has been developed to help build strong leadership skills in students at the Intermediate level. Area schools are each being invited to send a small group of students to participate in the conference so that they may return to their schools and share these leadership experiences with their fellow students.
Interested students will be asked to provide a letter of reference from a teacher, principal or coach stating why they would be a good candidate for the conference, and to write a short essay which provides the following information:

Your definition of leadership
Your goals for the next 4 years
How will you utilize the skills that you learn at this conference in the future
Why you think you would like to participate in this conference

The conference will feature professional key note speakers as well as various workshops led by student leaders and professionals.
Some Workshop topics include:

Listening and Communication Skills
Teambuilding and Co-operation
Inter-personal Relations
Time Management and Goal Setting
Nutrition and Healthy Active Living
Innovative Thinking

Registration

To register for the Leaders of Tomorrow Conference please download the registration package, fill in all necessary forms, (registration form, letter of reference, answers to the questionnaire) and mail it to Pretty River Academy along with your payment. Upon receiving your package you will be receiving a confirmation via e-mail, please make sure that the e-mail address that you provide is correct. All applications must be received by February 28, 2010. Please be advised that there are limited spaces.
