Learning
Pretty River Academy does conduct periodic exams, with a final pass mark set at 70%. Elementary students will be retaught and retested, until this standard is achieved. This policy ensures future academic success, while boosting student self-confidence. These strict standards also teach goal setting and encourage the development of good study skills.
Academic Excellence
All students are expected to master the basic curriculum, developing academic strength and an appreciation for the arts and the environment. They must demonstrate a full understanding of all concepts taught and are given the opportunity to advance in areas of academic and extra-curricular proficiency. Learning is enhanced by additional review and individual attention when needed, the use of current technology and involvement with the surrounding environment, including The Bruce Trail, Algonquin Park, and Georgian Bay.
Build on Knowledge
Our philosophy is to provide unique experiences which allow students to build on their knowledge and skills. These invaluable events are integrated throughout our programs. Academic foundations are constantly reinforced and these experiences continue to build a repertoire of knowledge and skill sets.
