Our Vision

In their fast paced, high-tech world, students thrive in Pretty River Academy’s state of the art school located in a parkland wilderness. It simplifies student life and allows us to focus on the classic art of face to face learning and mentoring. Our students are taught to Strive for Excellence so they can win Canada’s top scholarships and, eventually, placement at the University of the choice.

Students learn in our science labs, music and art studios, as well as outdoor classrooms. Our full length deck around the school allows for both casual and scientific observations in the wetland at our back door.

PRA’s full-sized gymnasium and climbing wall is an ideal space for physical education. Outside, the artificial turf is great for soccer, daily gym class, and a wide range of physical activities.

Collingwood's expansive hiking trails lead right to our door and connect us to the longest walking trail in Canada. Students can use the trails to run, walk, bike, ski, and explore the community with fellow classmates

Our Difference

INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION. INDIVIDUAL SUCCESS.

  • Individualized learning plans (for every student) to foster personal growth

  • Small class sizes which maximize the individual attention that students receive from teachers

  • A wide range of support including student success plans and tutoring

  • Wellness classes (meditation, yoga and fitness) (8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.)

  • PRA students receive healthy snacks and meals throughout the day. We partner with local suppliers and organic farmers to teach students where their food comes from, and how to eat a balanced meal - every meal. No need to pack a lunch, and it's all included in your tuition.

  • Vision board creation; students see their dreams and goals before them every day – this practice significantly increases goal realization by as much as 85%

  • Study clinic every day (3:15 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.)

  • Many after school activities (3:15 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
