Welcome to Pretty River Academy

Pretty River Academy is a homegrown Canadian school where learners are known, challenged and celebrated. We believe meaningful learning is shaped in partnership with families and through connections with our local community and the wider world.

At PRA, children have more time, space and opportunity to grow. Small classes build close relationships and responsive, inclusive environments, so every learner feels seen, heard and cared for. Our 40 acres in Collingwood and the Blue Mountains region offer a living lab for science, technology and discovery. Arts and athletics complement strong academics, with flexible scheduling that supports young athletes and the four-season lifestyle our families love. Through student leadership roles, we nurture curiosity, resilience and a desire to make a difference.

After more than 20 years in school leadership across Canada, Asia and the Middle East, including International Baccalaureate schools, I am delighted to return home and join this special community. In every role, one thing has held true: learners thrive when their education is active, purposeful and grounded in what matters most in their lives. Everyone at PRA is encouraged to ask questions, take thoughtful risks and solve problems, leading and learning from one another.

In 2027, our high school opens its doors, creating a pathway from our youngest learners through to graduation, with guidance at every step of the way. The road ahead is bright, and we hope your child will be part of it, discovering their strengths and shaping their own future.

We invite you and your family to experience the PRA difference. [Book a tour / Contact our office] today.
